GFI was founded in late 2000 by Per Praestholm and Vesa Ala-Kokko who between them have 35+ years experience selling imported contemporary furniture from all over the world.

GFI is strictly a wholesale company and they dedicate all their efforts to dealers, both brick and mortar retail furniture stores as well as a number of online based furniture sellers.

One of their earliest decisions when they started GFI was that they would sell only contemporary residential home furniture, which is where their strengths lie. In a relatively short time they have become an important source for contemporary furniture in the United States. Their distribution center is centrally located in Dallas, Texas where they maintain a large inventory for quick-ship. Partnering with manufacturers in various countries enables them to keep their competitive edge. They have suppliers with more than 2 million square feet state-of-the-art manufacturing area that can meet the demands of the most discriminating furniture seller.

As a small company they pride themselves on a family first attitude in regards to their employees. They know that happy people make good employees and they are proud to have virtually zero turn over in their company since its inception in 2000.
